Issue/Feedback:

After 10 years of being a BOQ customer, they failed to help me with
a very simple personal and business banking reconsolidation process.

Despite the bank advertising that it has small business owners running
the branches and that they understand small business, it became obvious
that these small business owners only understand small bank business
issues and not the issues faced by the actual small business owner.

The bank manager at the time could not even understand my personal tax
return (which was very simple) when submitted for assessment and
indicated I needed to speak to my accountant.

Solution:

Closed all accounts and severed all ties with this bank. Opened new
accounts (personal and business) with St George bank who were able
to assist us without issue.

Conclusion:

Again another bank that fails to accurately meet the expections set by
their advertising.

Recommendation(s):

A better Queensland alternative to a state based bank is Suncorp.
